Frequently asked questions
135|Is the Passwords4Free really free?
Yes — completely free, with no account, paywall or limits. Generate and check as many passwords as you need.
Are my passwords sent to a server?
No. Every password is generated and analysed inside your own browser using the Web Crypto API. Nothing is transmitted, logged or stored. Close the tab and it's gone.
How long should a password be?
Aim for at least 16 characters, and 20+ for important accounts. Length matters more than swapping a letter for a symbol. Our blog goes deeper.
What does the analyser actually check?
It estimates entropy (in bits), an offline time-to-crack, and flags weak patterns like common passwords, sequences and repeats. See the analyser.
